(Reporting
Period
July 1, 2009 to
June 30, 2010)
“The Public Reporting Website maintained by the Ministry of Health
and Long Term Care contains historic information which may relate
to resolved issues which could be well over one year old. Accordingly
the information is not reflective of the care and services provided
at Heron Terrace currently. All issues identified by the Ministry
of Health and Long Term Care are resolved immediately and our
plan of action to resolve such issues is provided to the Ministry. Identification
of issues and their resolution is part of our Internal Quality
Process. The friendliness, warmth and excellence of care at Heron
Terrace will be clearly visible when you visit us in person. Please
call 519-979-6730 to arrange a tour of Heron Terrace.”
Results of our most recent Annual Inspection by the Ministry of
Health:
On 27th & 28th August and 1st and 3rd
September 2009, our annual in-depth inspection was completed. As a
result, one unmet standard was issued.
Unmet Standards for Reporting Period
B3.16 Each resident’s environment
shall be maintained to minimize safety and security risks.
This unmet standard was
issued because a tub room door was left open while the tub was
filling. An unaccompanied resident was in the room. Signage was
posted on all tub room doors and staff on all shifts were
in-serviced. This standard was put back into compliance during a
follow-up inspection in March 2010. RESOLVED.
M3.3 An incident form was not
completed for an incident with a resident. The ensuing
investigation was not fully documented.
This unmet standard was issued because an incident form was not
completed for a complaint and the Home’s investigation of the
complaint was not fully documented according to the Home’s policies
and procedures. Process was reviewed with all members of the
Management Team and all Registered Staff. This standard was put
back into compliance during the annual inspection in August 2009.
