Each S&R Home has an active Family Council or Family Network in place. The Family Council, composed of families and friends of residents, serves as a support group, as well as a liaison between families, team members and management.

The Terms of Reference and the structure of each Family Council will vary among homes, since we believe that families have a right to organize their council.

Goals may include:

• Providing input on long term care issues at the Home

• Acting on shared concerns

• Supporting family members in their new experiences in long term care

• Educating families on long term care issues
